Wabei is a member of Actors' Equity and favorite acting credits include co-starring with Denzel Washington in Cry Freedom (Universal) as well as with Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane in Nuns on the Run (Handmade Films), Titania in Midsummer Nights Dream for Quantum Theatre, Ida B. Wells in Constant Star, City Theatre, Pittsburgh and Pello in the BBC TV drama, The Crossing. She has extensive musical and dance training and has worked with musical and opera giants who include Leonard Bernstein as the Jazz Singer in Mass (Barbican Centre, London), and with Simon Estes in King, The Musical (Picadilly Theatre, London). As a film theorist, screenwriter, producer, and award winning director, and camerawoman, her work includes Girls in the Middle for PBS WNET 13 (New York), Bank Windhoek Solo (Movie Makers), The Island (City Theatre, Pittsburgh) and I've Been to the Mountaintop ( Warehouse Theatre, Namibia). She has written plays and performed for children with The Magic Carpet (Olivier, Royal National Theatre, London). Wabei has taught internationally at the Norwegian Theatre Academy , Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Namibia to name a few.
